Well, it looks like Pawlenty is out, so I’m 0-2 on running mate picks. But it appears as if McCain the Maverick may be ready to pull a surprise and pick someone no one predicted.

All attention has suddenly turned to little-known Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska. Palin, 44, has served as governor for less than two years. She is the first woman governor in the history of Alaska and is also the youngest. When she was elected in 2006, she defeated former Sen. Frank Murkowski in the Republican primary in a major upset. She’s known as something of a maverick herself.
