A caller to our office today was angry at our headline today: “Clinton draws jeers in debate.” “Why do you always focus on the negative,” she asked. “Why didn’t you focus on the standing ovation she got at the end?”
It was a fair complaint, although her Xerox comment did go over like a lead balloon.
The comment also didn’t make sense. She said: “(L)ifting whole passages from someone else’s speeches is not change you can believe in,” she said, “it’s change you can Xerox.” It’s hard to visualize the point.
