As with the most recent Press Democrat poll (see Saturday blog entry), the latest Field Poll also suggests something significant is happening with the Obama campaign in California. Just two weeks ago, Hillary Clinton had a double-digit lead. The latest poll shows Clinton and Barack Obama in a statistical dead heat. Clinton leads 36 percent to 34 percent. Remarkably, the poll shows that about 18 percent of California Democrats are still undecided.
But does Obama have enough time to close the gap all the way?

On the Republican side, Sen. John McCain’s lead in California is now 12 points over former Gov. Mitt Romney thanks in part to the endorsements of Rudy Giuliani and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
But do these polls matter to those who have not made up their minds yet?
