OK. So we were wrong.

On Sunday, we opined in an editorial entitled “Super Sunday,” that Californians were more excited about Tsunami Tuesday then Super Bowl Sunday because “both the Democratic and Republican races are still competitive — possibly more so than today’s match-up between the New England Patriots and the New York Giants (Las Vegas oddsmakers favor the Patriots by 13 or 14 points).”

We then closed with this tongue-in-cheek line: “And who knows? The Giants might even win — and Ron Paul might get the Republican nomination.”

Given the Giants stunning last minute victory, we shouldn’t be making any more predictions — but we can say with near certainity that Ron Paul won’t be taking home California’s GOP nomination. And while it’s highly unlikely that Obama will beat Clinton in the Golden State, the Giants remind us never to say never.
