The state Fair Political Practices Commission released a Top 10 list of sorts today, listing the 10 people who donated the most money to state candidates and campaigns over the past 10 years. The numbers are, well, prodigious.

1. Steve Bing, Southern California businessman, $58 million.

2. Steve Poizner, state insurance commissioner, $43.2 million.

3. Steve Westly, former state controller, $41.7 million.

4. Arnold Schwarzenegger, governor, $25.8 million.

5. Jerry Perenchio, former owner of Univision, $23.2 million.

6. Meg Whitman, candidate for governor, $19.6 million.

7. Angelo Taskopoulos, Sacramento-area developer, $15.7 million.

8. John Doerr, Silicon Valley venture capitalist, $15.3 million.

9. Reed Hastings, founder of Netflix, $13.4 million.

10. Bill Simon, candidate for governor in 2002, $10.3 million.

The grand total: $266.6 million.
