UPDATE: The state Senate debate in Napa is Thursday. The item below has been corrected.

The campaign debate season is well underway. There have been numerous opportunities to see district attorney candidates Stephan Passalacqua and Jill Ravitch and all six people running for two seats on the Board of Supervisors as well as candidates for Congress and the state Assembly. Turn on the TV this weekend and you can catch a debate among the Republican candidates for governor and the top contenders for state schools superintendent.

But you’ll need to take a roadie if you want to hear from the local candidates in the Democratic primary for the state Senate being vacated by Democrat Pat Wiggins.

There are no forums, debates or other joint appearances scheduled in Sonoma County for Assemblywoman Noreen Evans, Sonoma Councilwoman Joanne Sanders, Sonoma County Planning Commissioner Tom Lynch and Roseland school board member David Rosas. There is a forum scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Napa College.

That may be your only opportunity to size the candidates up before the June 8 primary.
