Sonoma County’s Registrar of Voters has released the first batch of local results, based on early absentee ballots.

Hillary Clinton has 47 percent, Barack Obama, 40 percent, and John Edwards, 10 percent (I’ll bet those voters wish they had their ballots back).

And the 10 percent of GOP voters who voted for Rudy Giuliani are probably feeling the same way. John McCain is leading the local GOP vote with 50 percent, Mitt Romney, 19 percent and Mike Huckabee, 10 percent.

If early Sonoma County results are any indication of what will happen statewide on the initiatives, everything is going down in defeat. But early absentee votes aren’t often reflective of the general vote — so expect these results to change.
